I'll Be Happy When I'm Dead
What do you think of No Country For Old Men

I fuckin’ love it. It might not have been my favorite (Eastern Promises) or the best film (There Will Be Blood) of the outstanding (3:10 to Yuma4 months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Sunshine, Zodiac, etc.) year of 2007, but I love how it shockingly won the Best Picture Oscar along with a handful of others.

Why shockingly? Nothing about it Oscar bait. Brutally violent. Main characters who never meet up. Main character killed off screen. Suddenly ends. The bad guy getting away. And no one learns a goddamn thing.

But a Neo-Western Neo-Noir with Peckinpah influences (The Getaway and Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia) from the Coen bros? Yes, yes.
