I'll Be Happy When I'm Dead

Railroad epics of the mid 20s:

261. Abel Gance’s La roue: 273 minute romantic melodrama. The most fascinating aspects come through the visuals. Experimental editing techniques and the use of montage beats out Eisenstein by a couple years. Fantastic Robert Israel score.

262. John Ford’s The Iron Horse: Early John Ford western dramatizing and romanticizing the creation of the Transcontinental Railroad.
