155. Carol Reed’s The Fallen Idol: Servant is accused of killing his wife as he takes on a mistress who is also a servant. Sound familiar? Thank god it’s nowhere near as unbearable as that second series plot-line from Downton Abbey. In fact this is exceptional despite the child actor frequently being insufferable. BAINES!!!

156. Carol Reed’s The Third Man: It’s superb Film Noir, but I can’t get over how much the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme reminds me of the theme here.
